Individual Equine Assisted Therapy Sessions

Our individual equine assisted therapy (EAT) sessions, also known as horse therapy, take place outdoors on our certified organic farm. Horses have a unique ability to mirror human emotions, providing an opportunity for introspection and skill building.

Therapeutic interactions with horses have been proven to reduce anxiety and decrease stress levels. By engaging with these gentle animals, clients often experience a sense of empowerment and a deeper understanding of their own emotions. Each session is tailored to meet the client's goals, needs, and comfort level and may include activities such as grooming and leading the horses, or simply being with them in their habitat.

Please note that our program does not involve riding.
All activities with the horses are conducted on the ground (groundwork).

Sample Session

Initial Intake Session

The initial intake session at Greenfields Therapy Farm is dedicated to the potential client and their support team of up to 2 others. During this 45-minute session, we aim to determine if our services align with the client's goals and needs. The session includes a farm tour, discussions about the client's goals, an outline of our services, and a review of safety requirements. Within one week, we will inform the client if we believe our services can provide benefit. If the client chooses to proceed, they must complete an intake form and commit to therapy.

Please note that the intake session does not involve direct interaction with the horses.
